Donald Peters, 89; Morris. Ill.

— Donald Peters, 89, died Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Park Pointe Healthcare in Morris, Ill.

Born Aug. 7, 1924, in Grafton, West Va., he served in the United States Navy as a pilot. He held a chemical engineering degree from Marietta College and was employed with National Starch and Chemical Company until the age of 72. He was a superior salesman who loved his job, and one of his proudest moments was his induction in the National Sales Hall of Fame beside Malcom Forbes, Mary Kay Ash and James Marriot.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Rhea Donohew Peters; son, Michael; daughter-in-law, Sheree; daughter, Cindy; son-in-law, Fritz Zeier; and two grandchildren, Kelsey, Chicago and Travis, Boone, N. C.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Minta Boso Peters, and his brother, Ralph Peters, Jr.  

As per his wishes, there will be no service.
