Lillian E. Peters

92; New Albany

— Funeral services for Lillian E. Peters, 92, New Albany, who was lovingly referred to as "Inny," will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 9, at Bethel AME Church, New Albany, with burial in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, New Albany. She died Monday, June 2, 2014, at Autumn Woods Convalescent Center, New Albany. She celebrated her 92nd birthday March 25.

She shared a special relationship with her niece, Angela Chambers. In earlier years, she was proud of her career as a domestic. She was an active member of Bethel AME Church, New Albany, for many years and on the Trustee Board, Sunday School Board, and Stewardess Board, always a willing worker. She loved to bake and never refused anyone when asked for a donation of her baked goods.

Lillian "Inny" was a virtuous woman of God. She is mourned by a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Edna Bailey-Walker, her husband, and by her siblings, Kenneth Walker Sr., Vernon Walker Sr., Forrest Walker Sr. and Elizabeth Walker-Garner.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday, at the church.
