A funeral Mass for Jack Bernard Sattler, 90, of New Albany, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Holy Family Catholic Church, New Albany, with burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, New Albany. He died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.

 He was a veteran of World War II and served with the 8th Air Force in England. He retired from work at the VA Hospital in Louisville. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, life member of Hobart Beach Post 1693 VFW, life member and Past Sachem of Manzanita Tribe Redmen 276, Bonnie Sloan Post 28 American Legion and the 8th Air Force Historical Society.  

Survivors include a daughter, Janis Summers (Gene Wisman); sons, Jack Sattler and his wife, Cathy, William Sattler (Jamie Ashbury) and James Sattler and his wife, Teresa; close friend, Margaret Henninger; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann “Bobby” Bertrand.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany. A Rosary service will be at 4 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
