Richard Lee Wimp, 70, of Corydon, died Monday, March 18, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, from congestive heart failure. He was surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 9, 1942, in New Albany, to the late James C. and Mayme Eurdeene Flora Wimp. He was the owner of Rick’s Service Center near Corydon, was a member of the V.F.W. Floyd County Post 3281 and was a United States Marines veteran. He was always fair and honest and lived his life his own way with no regrets.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Georgette Lee Wolpert Wimp; a son, Richard D. Wimp, of Corydon; granddaughter, Georgie K. Wimp; brother, James Earl Wimp, of New Albany; and his sisters, Joyce R. Brown, of Crandall, and Kim Neiter, of Henryville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Curry.
There will be a memorial service at a later date at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
