Funeral services for G. Cash Oldham, 81, of Clarksville, will be at 2 p.m. today, Friday, Nov. 9, at Parkwood Baptist Church, Clarksville. He went to be with his Lord and savior on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Wedgewood Health Care in Clarksville after an illness.
He was born Thursday, April 2, 1931 in Princeton, Ky., to the late Elmer Timothy and Birdie Stallins Oldham. He was a retired, self-employed, board certified ophthalmic dispenser. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 35 in New Albany, a former board member of the Right to Life of Southern Indiana, and was an active member of Parkwood Baptist Church in Clarksville. He was also a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dolores Highsmith Oldham; his son, Timothy Cash Oldham and his wife, Lynne, of Georgetown; two step daughters, Karen Smelcher and her husband, Fred, of West Terre Haute, and Denise Jolene Howard and her husband, Montey, of Virginia Beach, Va.; three sisters, Shirley Goossen and her husband, Clarence, of Rochester, N.Y., Norma Dailey and her husband, Bob, of New Albany, and Lee Ann Heath, of Louisville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Emory Oldham, his sisters, Darvel Renn and Colleen Beal, and his grandson, Robert Brandenburg.
Visitation will begin at noon today, at the church.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Taylor-Wood Funeral Home in Lewisport, Ky.
