Marguriete Florence (Edwards) “Deana” Spalding, 50; of Salem

Funeral services for Marguriete Florence (Edwards) “Deana” Spalding, 50, of Salem, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 19, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany, with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. She died Monday, April 15, 2013, at her home with her loving family by her side. 

Deana was born on Dec. 31, 1962, in New Albany, to Dorothy (Titus) Bruce and the late David Edwards Sr. She worked for many years at the New Albany Box & Basket Factory and most recently was employed at Diamond Billiard Products. Deana was an avid gardener and loved to take care of her flowers at home. 

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Charles “Pat” Spalding; sons, John E. Spalding, Patrick A. Spalding and his wife April and Charles E. Spalding; mother, Dorothy Bruce; siblings, Donald Edwards and his wife Mayme, David Edwards Jr. and  Rexeen Blevins; grandchildren, Lyrical Spalding, Summer and Autumn Allen; and nephew, David Edwards. 

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
