Betty Lou Harder- Hatzell Peacock, 87; New Albany


— A memorial services for Betty Lou Harder-Hatzell Peacock, 87, New Albany, will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road  Chapel, New Albany, with cremation to follow. She died Wednesday May 7, 2014, at her home with family by her side.

She was born in Stillwater, Minn., Sept. 9 1926, to the late Wynter and Gladys Andersen Jacobson. She lived in San Francisco for much of her teen years before moving to Jeffersonville, where she attended and graduated from Jeffersonville High School. She was a beautiful and gifted lady and will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew her.

A special thanks to the Hosparus team who cared for Betty the past couple of months. Especially to caregivers Mary Stroud who so lovingly cared for her these past few years and more recently Shellie Macpherson for her dedicated and loving care.  

Survivors include sons, George Harder and wife, Teresa, and Gerald Harder and wife, Pat; grandsons, Brandon and Evan Harder; and great-grandson, Baxley Harder.

She was preceded in death by spouses, George Harder, Bill Hatzell, and Gene Peacock.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, at Hosparus, Alzheimers Association or favorite charity.
