Howard E. Fromme, 84; of New Albany


Funeral services for Howard E. Fromme, 84, of New Albany, will be at 2 p.m. today, Friday, July 6, at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. He died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Lincoln Hills Nursing Home in New Albany.

 He was born June 10, 1929, in Dubois County, to the late Joseph and Lilly Tabor Fromme. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from American Commercial Barge Lines.  

Survivors include his children, Joseph Fromme, Rebecca Fromme, and Michael Fromme; stepdaughter, Linda Poindexter; stepson, Larry Stansberry; brothers, Robert Fromme Sr. and his wife, Elaine, John Fromme and his wife, Delores, and Jerry Fromme and his wife, Merrill; sister, Betty Miner; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Russell Fromme; his daughter, Roseanna Fromme; and his sisters, Joan Myers, Rose Litch, and Jane Bond.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
