Funeral services for Alva Clark Sr., 81, of Charlestown, will be at noon Friday, Feb. 8, at E.M. Coots’ Sons Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, with graveside service at 2 p.m., at Ridge Spring Cemetery, Rineyville, Ky. He died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was a retired mechanic, was a CB operator, with his handle being “Tobacco Man.” He was a member of Main Cross Independent Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Constance Clark; sons, Rodney Clark and his wife, Tina, of Shawnee Mission, Kan., and Alva Clark Jr. and his wife, Julie, of Holt Summit, Mo.; daughters, Vicki Murphy and her husband, Nelson, of Jeffersonville, Shirley Craig and her husband, Mark, of Jeffersonville, and Deborah Gentry and her husband, Earl, of Clarksville; stepsons, Jimmy Hochadel, of Charlestown, and Alan Stewart; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Hala Spencer; and brother, William R. Clark.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and after 9 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
