Wayne T. Grimsey

73; of Sellersburg

Graveside services with military rites for Wayne T. Grimsey, 73, of Sellersburg, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at New Albany National Cemetery. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013.

 He was born  July 11, 1939 to George and Ethel Schofield Grimsey in Mount Vernon, N. Y. He worked 28 years as a manager of sales support for AT&T, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Calvary Christian Church of Sellersburg, and previously a member of College Church in Wheaton, Ill. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving state side during the Vietnam War era, and served in the United States Army during Desert Storm. He was an Eagle Scout, lifeguard, and also served as a police officer. He was a member of the NRA, loved the outdoors and collected antiques. Most of all he loved the Lord and his family.

He is survived by his former U.S.A.F. nurse and wife of 48 years, Carolyn Jones Grimsey; son, Tom Grimsey and his wife, Heidi; daughter, Karen Grimsey (Eric Reiss); five grandchildren, Ben, Emmaline, Kimberlee, Isaiah and Evangeline; brother, Gary Grimsey; and sisters, Merle and Elaine Grimsey.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Arrangements are being handled by Randall & Roberts Funeral Home in Noblesville.
