Harry Edmond Mannix Jr.

66; Sellersburg

— Harry Edmond Mannix Jr. 66, Sellersburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, after an illness.

 He was born in Jeffersonville, on July 31,1947. He attended Sellersburg First Baptist Church, was a 1965 graduate of Silver Creek High School, earned his Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Indiana University in 1997 and became a Certified Public Accountant in Indiana, Kentucky, and Florida. He retired from Farmand, Farmand, and Farmand Accounting in Jacksonville, Fla. He was a 12 year veteran of the U.S. Navy. His interests included IU basketball, Florida State football, NASCAR, jigsaw and word puzzles. 

Surviving include a grandson, Payne Arruda-Mannix; sisters, Donna Turpin and her husband, Don, Georgetown, Marilyn Scott and her husband, Tom, Sellersburg,  Sallie Canfield and her husband, Josh, Clarksville, Rosemary Webster and her husband, Norman, The Villages, Fla., Amy Beth Thompson and her husband, Tod, Plainfield, and Mary Beth Hackman and her husband, Matt, Floyds Knobs; and his brother, Charles Mannix and his wife, Dana, Indianapolis.

He was preceded in death by parents, Harry and Frances Mannix and a son, Douglas Mannix. 

A private service will be held for family only, with Garr Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

  Expressions of sympathy in his honor may be given to Sellersburg First Baptist Church or do something nice for a veteran or active member of the military.
