Joseph Harold Spalding

88; New Albany

— A funeral Mass for Joseph Harold Spalding, 88, New Albany, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 19, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. He died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, New Albany.

  He was born April 19, 1926 in Lebanon, Ky. to the late William and Emily Spalding. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II and was a member of VFW Post 3281 and Our Lady of Perpetual Help, both in New Albany. He was a retired supervisor at the Sud-Chemie Company in Louisville Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Helen Spalding; grandson, Pat Daniel; granddaughter, Nikki Graham; great-grandchildren, Trae Graham, Michael Jantzen, Natasha Daniel, Bryan Daniel, Timmy Daniel, and Tyler Daniel;

great-great granddaughter, Hallie Jantzen; brothers, Jerry Spalding and James Spalding; and sisters, Betty Spalding and Rose Aronhime.

 In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his stepson, Harold Jantzen.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany.
