Virgil Lee Seay, 70; New Albany

— Funeral services for Virgil Lee Seay, 70, New Albany, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Jones Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church in New Albany with burial to follow at West Haven Cemetery. He died Saturday, June 14, 2014.

He retired from the Floyd County Probation Office after 35 years of service and was a United States Army veteran. Virgil enjoyed fishing, loved to go bowling, and was a member at Jones Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church in New Albany.

Virgil was born on January 7, 1944, in Pontiac, Mich., to the late Phillip L. McNeary Sr. and Virginia Seay. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Myrtle D. Byas.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sandra L. (Williams) Seay; children, Colleen Blake and husband, Claude, Darren Seay and wife, Lisa, Felicia Seay, Alicia Seay, Gregory Seay, Lori Thomas; brothers, Phillip McNeary Jr. and wife, Linda, Robert Seay, Robert Smith, Kevin Odom, David Odom; mother-in-law, Mary E. Thomas; 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and good friends.

Visitation will be from 2  to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Newcomer Funeral Home and on Thursday after noon at the church.
