Laverne E. Harbeson, 91; New Albany

— Funeral services for Laverne E. Harbeson, 91, New Albany, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Corydon. Pastor Robyn Kistemaker will officiate. Kathy Johnson will be the organist. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. She died Monday, June 16, 2014, at her home in New Albany.

She was born Oct. 1, 1922. She was a homemaker, was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and the St. Peter’s Women of the ELCA near Corydon, was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Old Capitol Aerie #2794 Ladies Auxiliary near Corydon and was a former Harrison County 4-H leader.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse A. and Otaska Faye Richert.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, James R. “Jim” Harbeson; her sons, Richert J. Harbeson and wife, Karen, of Lanesville, and Marc L. Harbeson and wife, Jane, of Elizabeth; her daughters, Cinda L. Harbeson of New Albany and Tammy J. Lamon and husband, George, of Lanesville; seven grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or Hosparus of Southern Indiana.

Pallbearers will be Brian Lamon, David Harbeson, George A. Lamon, Russell Harbeson and Kevin Harbeson.
