Benjamin J. Brown

88; Denver

Benjamin J. Brown, 88, Denver, died peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013.  He was 88 years old.

Ben was born July 13, 1925, to Victor and Loretta (McDaniel) Brown in New Albany.  He was a 1943 graduate of New Albany High School and a graduate of the University of Louisville. He was a member of Our Lady Fatima Catholic Church in Lakewood, Colo.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, JoAnn (Garr) Brown; three daughters, Julianne  Simpson (James), Wixom, Mich.;  Nancy Smith (Sam), Tulsa, Okla.; and Anne Marie Schuller (Brent), Denver; son, Paul D. Brown (Judy), Greencastle; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Hilda Howard, Charlestown, Vivian Lung (Don), Floyds Knobs, and Mary Brown, New Albany. 

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Edith R. Weber; brother-in-law, Bill Howard; niece, Therese Howard; and a great-nephew, Ian Banet.

Interment was held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Denver Staging Area A on Jan. 7, 2014.
