Funeral services for Thomas E. Jones M.D., 77, of New Albany, will be at 10 a.m.. Friday, July 26, at Grace Lutheran Church New Albany. He died Monday, July 22, 2013, at Jewish Hospital, Louisville, with his wife at his side.
He was a native of Frakes, Ky., and was a former family physician and later an ears, nose & throat specialist in New Albany. He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky, University of Louisville School of Medicine, and the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine ENT program. He served as a captain in the U. S. Army Medical Corps during the Vietnam War receiving a Bronze Star. He was an avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Jones; three sons, Anthony Jones and his wife, Barbara, Thomas Jones and his wife, Lodie, and Travis Jones; a daughter Morris Lynn “Candy” Jones; stepdaughter, Christina Hay Brutscher and her husband, Stephen; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayland and Ruby Horn Jones.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Market Street Chapel, New Albany.
Interment will be private.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or the Multiple Myeloma Association/Little Rock, Arkansas.
