Freeman C. Stone Sr., 81; Jeffersonville

— Funeral services for Freeman C. Stone Sr., 81, Jeffersonville, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, at Scott Funeral Homes North Chapel, Jeffersonville, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville. He died Sunday, June 29, 2014.

He was a Korean War Veteran of the United States Navy and retired after 32 years as an over the road truck driver. He was an active member of Oak Park Baptist Church, Jeffersonville and a loving husband, father and grandfather to his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Ruth Stone; three children, Freeman Stone Jr. and his wife, Sheila, Teresa Fisher and her husband, Richard, and Karen Zody and her husband, Michael; two brothers, Fred Stone and his wife, Joyce, and John Stone; eight grandchildren, Michael Stone, Shane Stone, Savannah McCurry, Brad Tetley and his wife, Meghan, Lauren Mannucci, Kameron Middleton and her husband, Brandin, McKenna Zody and Kyler Zody; and nine great-grandchildren, Aryssa, Emma, Sophia, Madeline, Layla, Brandin, Maelin, Aubrey and Ronnie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Lucille Stone; and three brothers, Lewis, William and Wendell Stone.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. 

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or Oak Park Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
