Earl L Roberson, 89; New Albany

Funeral services for Earl L Roberson, 89, New Albany, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 11, at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany, with burial and military honors at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. He died in his sleep, Saturday, July 5, 2014.

He was born on Aug. 31,1924, in Bronson, Iowa, to the late Novie and Minerva Roberson. He lived and worked most of his life in New Albany. He was a longtime member of Culbertson Baptist Church, New Albany and retired from Louisville Cement in 1985. For the past few years, he resided with his son in Albany, New York. He was a veteran of both World War II and Korea. In his youth, he was an avid small game hunter and fisherman. He loved to garden and do woodworking.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Emogene Roberson; his son, Carl Roberson and his wife, Claire; granddaughters, Carol Roberson and Christina Noguera and her husband, Frank; great-granddaughter, Jenna Noguera, Albany, New York; as well as several nieces and nephews and close friends. He was also very close to Laura Jones and papaw to Mandy Walker.

 In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Mayme Martin.

Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
