Douglas E. Schott, 56; Henryville

— Funeral services for Douglas E. Schott, 56, Henryville, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at Safe Harbor Christian Church, 3002 Murphy Road, Memphis, with burial to follow at Kraft Graceland Memorial Park. Reverend T.C. Baker will conduct the services. Schott died Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Clark Memorial Hospital.

Born Sept.. 28, 1957, in Louisville, he was the son of the late Robert L. Schott and Alberta (Simms) Schott who survives in Cape Cod, Mass.

Doug was retired from the United States Army and worked the for the Dept. of Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection as an Officer of Information Technology.

On June 23, 1983, in Louisville, he married Denise (Back) Schott who survives in Henryville.

Doug was a member of the Safe Harbor Christian Church where he served as an elder and was active on the worship team. He enjoyed cooking, listening to music, and playing the piano.

Other survivors include five children, Jacqueline Beck of Shepherdsville, Ky., Benjamin Schott of Henryville, Jessica Noblitt and husband, Christopher, of Scottsburg, Hannah Johnson and husband, Derek, of Henryville, Andrew Schott of Henryville, six grandchildren, Zachary and Makayla Beck of Shepherdsville, Ky., Bryson Noblitt of Scottsburg, Jace, Jayla, and Justice Johnson of Henryville; one sister, Denise Hyer and husband, Jeff, of South Wellfleet, Mass.; mother-in-law, Betty Back of Henryville, a large extended family and church family that he was well loved by.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Dwayne Schott.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. until time of service, all at Safe Harbor Christian Church.
