Linda (Fuji) J. Brown, 63; New Albany

— Funeral services for Linda (Fuji) J. Brown, 63, New Albany, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at St. Stephens Baptist Church of Southern Indiana with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. She died  Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, New Albany.

She was born on June 25, 1950, to Leonard Brown and Lucille Brown-Bell. Linda was a devoted mother and grandmother, who took excellent care of them. She retired from Pillsbury, where she work for 30 years. She gave her life to Christ at 1st Baptist Church of Jefferson Garden, where she served as the president of the usher board. She also served on the trustee committee for many years. Later on in life, she became a member of St. Stephens Baptist Church of Southern Indiana, and she loved her church. She loved going on her gambling trips and spending time with her friends. Fuji was the family care taker that always looked after her brothers and sisters. She was loyal and dedicated to her family. 

Survivors include her daughters, Tefa Brown and Marlo Brown, both of New Albany; her granddaughter, Laken Brown; her mother, Lucille (Brown) Bell; brothers, Kent Brown, 1st Sgt. Chad (Geraldine) Brown, Jamie Bell, Leonard Davidson and Juan Davidson; her sisters, Diane Artis, Charlotte Buchanan, Tamara (Raymond) Rickman, Robin Brown, Stacy (Jamie) Trowell, Lisa Bell and Tracey (Richard) Bland; a stepdaughter, Lindsey Pointer; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Brown; her sister, Margo Parson; her stepfather, James Bell; her sister-in-law, Tonya Brown; her brothers-in-law, Warland Artis Sr. and James Parson.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday at the church.

Spring Valley Funeral & Cremation, New Albany, was in charge of arrangements.
