Virginia Ann ‘Ginny’ Johnson, 59; New Albany

— Funeral services for Virginia Ann “Ginny” Johnson, 59, New Albany, will  be at 1 p.m. Monday, July 7, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. She died Tuesday, July 1, 2014.  

She was an employee for Colgate Palmolive Company for more than 20 years, and a member of Park Christian Church. She was a former chairperson for the United Way, enjoyed volunteering for Kosair’s Childrens Hospital, and was an avid IU fan, and had played in many women’s softball leagues. She was born on Feb. 1, 1955 in New Albany to Robert J. Johnson and the late Dotty G. Maddux Johnson.

She is survived by her life partner Patricia “Pat” Oliver; sisters, Janey Lee (Roy Nall), Patsy Hoskins and her husband, Dennis, and Lynda Grunzinger and her husband, Paul; nieces, Lori Hope, Lisa Lee, and Jazmine Reed, nephew, Sam Grunzinger; great niece; four great nephews; and many loving friends, family, and neighbors.

In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Wayne Johnson.    

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, and after 10 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
