Wilbur Nash Jr., 84; of New Albany

A memorial service for Wilbur Nash Jr., 84, of New Albany, will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 20, at Park Christian Church, New  Albany. Cremation was chosen following his wishes. He died Sunday, June 30, 2013.

He was born Jan. 31, 1929, to Wilbur Nash Sr. and Orpha Nash. He was the oldest of four children. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. In 1952, he married Gloria Ising Nash. He worked as a stereotyper at the Courier Journal and newspapers all over the country. In 1959 he moved his family to Wichita, Kan., where he worked at the Wichita Eagle & Beacon. He graduated from Wichita State University in 1969 and moved back to Indiana. He was director of admissions at Louisville General Hospital & University of Louisville Hospital. He retired in 1991 and became a real estate agent. Wilbur was a lifetime member of Park Christian Church in New Albany.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gloria Nash; children, Ron Nash and his wife, Susan Marguet, Barbara Grauel and her husband, Fred, and Tom Nash;  sister and brothers, Marilyn Doyle, and Warren and Darrell Nash; four grandchildren, Ben and Sam Nash and Ashley and Evan Young; great-grandsons, Skyler Young and Landon Krow; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
