Edward Y. ‘Ed’ Bennett

91; Fort Wayne

— Edward Y. “Ed” Bennett, 91,  Fort Wayne, formerly of New Albany, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014.

He was born on Dec. 29, 1922 in New Albany, to the late Edward Y. Sr. and Blanche Bennett. He was a United States Coast Guard veteran proudly serving his country during World War II. He was a former employee of Magnavox-Phillips and IT&T.

He is survived by his loving wife, Regina Esther Christiansen Bennett; sons, Alan Bennett and his wife, Judy, Tom Bennett  and his wife, Susan, and Christopher “Kip” Bennett; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. 

 Memorial visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany. Private burial will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, New Albany.
