Charles R. “Hotz” Carroll Jr.

83; Jeffersonville

Funeral services for Charles R. “Hotz” Carroll Jr., 83, Jeffersonville, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at  Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. He died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Clark Memorial Hospital.

He worked at BF Goodrich and Zeon Inc. as a chemist. Charles served in the U.S. Marines in the Korean War. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and American Legion Post 35. He was a native of Jeffersonville.

He is survived by his wife Frances Carroll, Jeffersonville; sons, Raymond J. Carroll and wife Charlotte, Jeffersonville, Brian P. Carroll and wife Madonna, Indianapolis, and Paul A. Carroll and wife Lisa, Jeffersonville; sisters, Mary Catherine McNeil, Louisville, Marion Cramer, Pittsburgh, Judy VanWinkle, Depauw,  Rose Kempf, Louisville and Sandy East, Louisville; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles R. Carroll Sr.; mother, Ellen East; brother, Pete Carroll; sisters, Frances Harlan and Evelyn “Sissy” Wisniewski.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at E.M. Coots’ Sons Funeral Home, Jeffersonville.
