Dorothy “Dot” L. Reader

89; Corydon

— Funeral services for Dorothy “Dot” L. Reader, 89, Corydon, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home, Corydon, with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth. She died at home Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014.

She was born in New Albany on June 11, 1924, to Joseph Burkhart and Agnes Gertrude Eve Schmitt. She was a former telephone operator for Indiana Bell and worked as a telephone operator at Camp Atterbury during WWII.

She was a member of the Old Corydon County Club and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by two nieces, Patricia Ann Tucker and Deanna Kirininger, both of New Albany; seven great-nieces and nephews: Michael Tucker, Lana Tucker, Mary Tucker, Mark Krininger, Brooke Omaur, Nichole Krininger and Brett Krininger; and 12 great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband William Reader.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
