Floyd I, Meredith

87; of Sellersburg

— Funeral services for Floyd I. Meredith, 87, of Sellersburg, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 24, at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville. He died Friday, June 21, 2013, at River Crossing Assisted Living Community in Charlestown.

 He was a retired mechanic form Brown Bros. Cadillac in Louisville and also worked for 16 years at McClure Drugstore in Clarksville. He was an Army veteran and a member of the Sellersburg First Baptist Church, a 50-year Mason and pastmaster of the Buckner Lodge, the Buechel Lodge, the Abraham Lodge and the Falls City Lodge. He was the past associate guardian of Job’s Daughters, Bethel 20, and a member of the Scottish Rite. 

Survivors include a daughter in law, Jeanne Meredith; three brothers, Richard Meredith, Daniel Meredith and Jim Meredith; three sisters, Hattie Davis, Bertie Thompson and Verda Whitman; and three grandchildren, Lori Dinkel, Shannon Balentine and Dustin Meredith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Meredith; daughter, Linda Faye Nadeau; and a son, Robert Dale Meredith.

 Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
