Verona M. Longest Sheehan

86; New Albany

— A memorial service for Verona M. Longest Sheehan, 86, New Albany, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Chapel of Memories in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. Cremation was chosen. She died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013.

Verona was born July 22, 1927, in English, to the late Coy and Ressie (Marshall) Longest and was the widow of Clarence J. “Pat” Sheehan who died in 2010.  She was a member of the Hobart Post #1693 VFW Auxiliary in New Albany. She was a cashier with the Kroger Company for some 35 years until her retirement and met and made many friends throughout her career. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

 Survivors include her sister, Esther Knight, English; half-brothers, Roy, Marengo,Hershel, St. Louis, and Richard Longest,  New Salisbury; half-sister, Sylvia Grubb, Cypress, Texas; step-sister, Martha Atkins, Floyds Knobs; also numerous nieces and nephews.
