Funeral services for Norma Jane Moore, New Albany, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany. She died Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, in Indianapolis.
The daughter of Archibald C. Hook and Naomi Miller Hook, she was a life-long resident of New Albany. She was widowed twice, first in 1979 by Von L. Hisey and then by the beloved Edgar “Eddie” Moore whom she married in 1999. Her life’s joy revolved around her three daughters, eight grandchildren, and one great grandson. She worked at the White House Department Store, Bruce Fox Company and Jamie Aebersold Co. She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Her passion was vacationing in warm climates and spending time with her daughters and their families.
Her three daughters are, Deborah Hammond Peebles and her husband, Julian, Indianapolis , Nancy Ruxer and her husband, Marty, Louisville, and Angie Edwards and her husband, Kevin, Wake Forest, N.C Her grandchildren and great-grandson will miss the presence of their “Grammy” greatly. For three decades Grammy was the first person to arrive with the birth of each grandchild from her first grandchild in San Francisco in 1979 through the first great grandchild in Indianapolis in the summer of 2009. Norma’s grandchildren are Von Matthew and his wife, Maura and Alex Hammond and his wife, Susan; Emilee, Taylor and John Ruxer; and Abigail Jane, Jack, and Ashley Edwards; and great grandson, Declan Birch Hammond. She is also survived by a brother, Jim Hook, New Albany.
She was preceded in death by her husbands and her sister, Archilein Muncy and brothers, Harry and Carl Hook.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
