Lois J. (Schmitt) Wolfe, 89; of Floyds Knobs

A funeral Mass for Lois J. (Schmitt) Wolfe, 89, of Floyds Knobs, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, April 26, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church (Chapel), with burial to follow in the church cemetery. She died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at her home. 

She was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church in Floyds Knobs and retired from Airguard in New Albany.       

Lois was born on Oct. 6, 1923, in Harrison County, to the late Perry and Flora (Richert) Schmitt.  

She is survived by her children, Betty Jean Wolfe, Flora Dian Jacobi and her husband Larry and Charles Walter Wolfe and his wife Carolyn; grandchildren, Angela Carter and her husband Joe, Melissa Happel, Kim Harbison and her husband Greg and Dean A. Jacobi;  and great-grandchildren, Jacob and Nickalos Carter, MaKenzie, Erica Ackermann, Nathan, Jessica and Alivia Harbison.  

Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Wolfe; siblings, Orville and Wayne Schmitt, Helen Harmling and Mary L. “Peggy” Steele.  

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany, and after 10 a.m. Friday at church.   

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Jackie Rosenburger, Ruth Becht, Sherry Wise, Mary Callahan and Kim Ellis for their love and kindness.
