George Thomas Umensetter 78; of Georgetown

Funeral services for George Thomas Umensetter, 78, of Georgetown, will be at noon Monday, Dec. 3, at Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown, with burial in Wolfe Cemetery in Corydon. He died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at his home in Lakeland, Fla.

He was born in Finchville, Ky., on Feb. 18, 1934, the son of George and Claris Rogers Umensetter. He was retired from Ford Motor Co. and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Steilberg Umensetter, of Lackland, Fla.; two sons, George Thomas Umensetter II and his wife, Patty, of Corydon, and Larry Wayne Powers and his wife, Robin, of Elizabeth; four daughters, Phyllis Coffey  and husband Dennis of Corydon, Rhonda Emberton, Toy Hornbeck and husband Lennie, and Daneen Powers (Monica), all of Louisville; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Visitation at the funeral home will be from 10 a.m.t o 8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation, 11 Independence Way, Newark, Del., 19713.
