Charles W. ‘Charlie’ ‘Bill’ Hays Jr., 74; New Albany

— Funeral services for Charles W. “Charlie” “Bill” Hays Jr. 74, New Albany, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. He died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013.

 He was a former member of the United States Army Reserve and a former mentor for the local Junior Achievement program.  Charlie was a current employee of the Kinergy Corporation where he has been an employee for more than 30 years. He was born Oct. 9, 1939 in New Albany to the late Charles W. Sr. and Margaret Richards Hays.

He is survived by his children, William “Tex” Wells, Shaun Muth and her husband, Edmond, Jennifer Nall and her husband, John, Susie Rinker, Chuck Hays and his wife, Tammy, Kevin Hays, and Matthew Hays; siblings, Deanna Lowe and her husband, Carl, and Jim Hays and his wife, Pat; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret Hoffman Hays.  

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, and after 9 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
