Russell L. Bell, 88; Marengo

— Funeral services for Russell L. Bell, 88, Marengo, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany, with private burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. He died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.

He was born July 11, 1925 in Marengo, to the late Harry and Iona Harris Bell.  He was an Army Veteran of World War II, a member of American Legion Post 84 Marengo, an employee of BF Goodrich for 38 years, a member of Marengo Christian Church, and a former member of  Wesley Chapel in New Albany.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Bell; daughter, Rita Newlin Blevins; stepdaughter, Lisa Bell; grandchildren, Rick Newlin and Roni Montgomery and her husband, David; step-grandchildren, Matthew and Katie Pickerill and Christina Grimes; great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Dylan, and Colin; and brother, Floyd Bell.

He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Margie Crecelius Bell.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
