William T. ‘Bill’ Burnett Sr.

65; of New Albany

Funeral services for William T. “Bill” Burnett Sr., 65, of New Albany, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Oak Street Chapel, New Albany, with private interment. He died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, in Pekin.

He was a native of Leitchfield, Ky., and was the owner of Burnett Roofing Company in New Albany. He was and avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his dog, Boxer.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda L. Atherton  Burnett; sons, William T. Burnett Jr., of Pekin, Brian J. Burnett, of Scottsburg, and Travis T. Burnett, of Pekin; daughter, Tammy K. Dye and her husband, Mike, of Borden; brothers, Elvin Burnett and his wife, Juna, of Lietchfield, Ky., Leslie A. Burnett and his wife, Katherine, of Borden, Russell L. Burnett  and his wife, Ann, of Borden, Ernest R. Burnett and his wife, Rena, of Borden, and John W. Burnett, of     Charlestown; sisters, Betty L. Ellison and her husband, Orbin, of Monroe, Mich., Marilyn Jackson, of Pekin, Barbara J. Sizemore  and  her husband, Bob, of Charlotte, Mich., Vivian Sullivan and her husband, Donny, of Salem, and Susan Humphrey and her husband, Stump, of Velonia; grandchildren, Eric A. Coats, Amanda R. Coats, Danielle R. Burnett, William T. Burnett III, Bradley J. Burnett, Heidi Burnett, and Kimberly Burnett; great-granddaughters, Hayden and Henley Coats, and Xoe Burnett; and numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, David E. and Pearlie Alice Stone Burnett; his brothers, Harley, David E. Jr. and Larry “Sandy” and James A. Burnett; and his sisters, Ruddell Burnett Mae Epperson, Eva Knicley and Opal Burnett.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, June 1, at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Oak Street Chapel, New Albany.
