Anderson Dever Williar, 76; of Greenville

— Funeral services for Anderson Dever Williar, 76, of Greenville, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, at Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, with burial in Rehoboth Cemetery in Laconia. He died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center in New Albany.

He was born May 5, 1936, in Harrison County to Anderson and Florence Haas Williar. He was a machinist for Reynolds Metals in Louisville, a member of the International Machinist and Aerospace Union Local #681 in Lousiville, a member of Northside Christian Church in New Albany and an Army veteran. He was an avid car race fan and attended the Indy 500 more than 50 times in his life. He was a loving husband and father and a man strong in his faith.

Survivors include his wife, Myrna King Williar; a son, Kevin Williar and his wife, Barbaran, of Jeffersonville; two daughters, Kathy Smythe and her husband, Bill, of Mauckport and Kelly Engle and her husband, Tim, of Greenville; two sisters, Doris Seacat, of Corydon and Joan Witte, of Indianapolis; and a granddaughter, Kayla.

Visitation at the funeral home will be from noon to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to CARS of Southern Indiana or Hosparus of Southern Indiana.
