Bonnie Jean Beavin Roberts 70; of Shelbyville, Ky.

— Funeral Mass for Bonnie Jean Beavin Roberts, 70, Shelbyville, Ky., will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 9, at Church of the Annunciation, Shelbyville, Ky., with cremation to follow the funeral. She died Monday, May 6, 2013, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.

A native of Southern Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Mary Tilley Beavin. She graduated from Providence High School in 1961. She was a loving mother and homemaker for many years and later worked in bookkeeping with Army Air Force Exchange Services in Jeffersonville. She volunteered with Mended Hearts in the Heart Units at Baptist Hospital East and Norton Audubon Hospital. She was the treasurer of the Cover Lovers Quilting Group in Shelbyville, a Girl Scout Leader for many years and the former coach of the Bonnie Belles softball team. She was a member of the Church of the Annunciation, where she previously taught at Vacation Bible School.

Survivors include her husband of 23 years, William C. Roberts; two sons, Gregory Popp and his wife, Tracy, of Sellersburg, and Michael Bryan Popp, of Shelbyville, Ky.; two daughters, Leesa Marie Popp (Jeff Parker) of Munfordville, Ky. and Jennifer Lynn Van Vactor and her husband, Scott, of Shepherdsville, Ky.; three stepchildren, Adam Roberts and his wife, Lindsey, of Louisville, Tommy Roberts, of Shelbyville, Ky., and Cindy Roberts, of Simpsonville; one sister, Susan Hopson, of Littleton, Colo.; one brother, Terry Beavin and his wife, Tanja, of Greenville; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m., Wednesday and 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Webb Funeral Home, Shelbyville, Ky.  

Expressions of sympathy may be made to Shelby County Humane Society or Mended Hearts, Chapter 11.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Webb Funeral Home.
