Funeral services for Phillip Randall Cox, 81, of Jeffersonville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Jeffersonville, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery, Jeffersonville. He died Monday, May 13, 2013, at home with his family by his side.
He was born in Taylor County, Ky., a partner of Ettel & Cox Construction and later formed Cox Construction Company. He was co-founder of the Homemade Ice Cream & Pie Kitchen, a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by two sons, Mike Cox and his wife, Gina, of Jeffersonville, and Tim Cox and his wife, Shelly, of Jeffersonville; a brother, Bobby Cox and his wife, Sue, of San Diego, Calif.; four grandchildren, Travis Cox and his wife, Jennifer, of Greenwood, Stephanie Clegg and her husband, Travis, of Madison, Chelsea Dodson and her husband, Chad, of Jeffersonville, and Daniel Cox, of Jeffersonville; five great-grandchildren, Cameron, Tanner Randall, Ava, Cash, Emma; two nieces, Patricia and Peggy; and one nephew, David.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ann Cox; his parents, Morris and Stephen Cox; a sister, Wilma Sexton; and two brothers, David Cox and Wycliffe Cox.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Scott Funeral Home, Jeffersonville.
