Charles Nicholas Korte Sr.

77; of Memphis

Funeral services for Charles Nicholas Korte Sr., 77, of Memphis, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 5, at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the St. Michaels Cemetery. He died Monday, April 1, 2013, at his home.

He was born on July 10, 1935, to Anthony and Minnie (Goebel) Korte in Clark County. He was a retired maintenance worker for Louisville Cement Company and a farmer.

Survivors include his sons, Mark Korte, of Memphis,  Charlie Korte Jr., of Memphis, and Theron Korte, of Salem; daughter, Pam Maupin, of Palm Beach, Fla.; brothers, Anthony Korte, of Memphis, and Raymond Korte, of Salem; sisters, Helen Atkins, of Floyds Knobs,  Alma Schneller, of Louisville, and Margaret Schafer, of Memphis; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Korte; sisters, Elizabeth Korte and Mary Klotz.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. on Friday.
