Lillie Turpin King, 92; of Georgetown

— Funeral services for Lillie Turpin King, 92, of Georgetown, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at the Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook, Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes in New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. She died Friday, March 29, 2013, at Lincoln Hills Health Care. 

She was born Nov. 24, 1920, to the late Ernest and Nannie Bolin. 

Lillie was a member of State Street Baptist Church and worked at Floyd Memorial and Jewish hospitals. She was a private sitter for many years, loved caring for patients and enjoyed her career. After her retirement, she and her husband, Bernie, lived in Florida for several years.

Lillie adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was their Memaw and they were her rainbow in life. Her family was her pride and joy.

Survivors include her sons, Charles Don Turpin and his wife, Donna, and Rex Turpin and his wife, Susan; sister, Ruby Ellis; grandchildren, Deanna Ables and her husband, Toby, Heather Turpin and Justin Turpin; and great-grandchildren Clay and Tori Ables.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard King.

Lillie’s family wishes to thank Lincoln Hills Health Center for their wonderful care and Hosparus for their kindness and care.

Visitation at the funeral home will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook, Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes. 

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hosparus.
