Margaret E. (Baker) Sappenfield Zuberer, 90; of New Albany

— Funeral Mass for Margaret E. (Baker) Sappenfield Zuberer, 90, of New Albany will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, New Albany. She died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Autumn Woods Health Campus in New Albany.

The daughter of the late George and Pearl (Dropsey) Baker, she was born April 18, 1922, in New Albany. She was a bookkeeper and had worked at the former O.E.O and Public Service Indiana. She was an accomplished seamstress and spent many hours doing volunteer work. She volunteered for the American Red Cross and Floyd Memorial Hospital’s Auxiliary, where she served as past president and contributed more than 6,500 hours of volunteer work. She was a charter member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and member of the Madonna Circle.

Survivors include her sons David A. Sappenfield and wife Shirley, Robert D. Sappenfield, and Thomas G. Sappenfield and wife Janet; sister Marilyn E. Gettelfinger; grandchildren David, Julie, Lauren, Leigh, Blake and Lindsay; and great-grandchildren Robbie, Samantha, Mason and Mack.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Cecil Sappenfield and her second husband George Zuberer. The family would like to extend a special thank you to their aunt Marilyn Gettelfinger for the love and support shown to their mother.  

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kraft Funeral Service’s Spring Street Chapel. There will be a Rosary Service at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
