Ann Elizabeth ‘Babe’ Wilburn Bertrand, 92; of New Albany

A Funeral Mass for Ann Elizabeth “Babe” Wilburn Bertrand, 92, of New Albany, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany, with burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. She died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.

She was born May 12, 1920, in New Albany to the late John Edwin and Emma Elizabeth Louis Reas. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Madonna Circle and introduced herself to everyone as grandma. 

Survivors include her sons, Johnny Wilburn, Vaughn Wilburn and his wife, Anne, and Donald Wilburn and his wife, Connie; step-children, Frank Bertrand and his wife, Karen, Sister Paul Colette and Clara Mayfield and her husband, Kenny; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Chester Wilburn; her second husband, Cleo Bertrand; and ste-daughter, Martha Irene Mouser.

Visitation at the Spring Street Chapel of Kraft Funeral Home in New Albany will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday. 

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Little Sisters of the Poor.
