William D. Hennessy III

84; of Louisville

— A memorial service for William D. Hennessy III, 84, of Louisville, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at Central Presbyterian Church in Louisville. He died Wednesday, Dec. 26, at Treyton Oak Towers, Louisville.

He was a native of Madison, a retired United Presbyterian minister, librarian at the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and organist for many local churches in Southern Indiana and Louisville. His piano playing and improvisations gave joy to many.

Survivors include a son, Joel Hennessy and his wife Kim, of Philadelphia; two daughters, Gail Hennessy (Peter McCarthy) of London, England, and Beth Hennessy (Thomas Barnes) of Lanesboro, Minn.; two grandchildren, Elsa and Colin Hennessy-Barnes; one sister, Helen Greenland and her husband Richard, of Indianapolis; and special friend, Shirley Gail Hart.
