Raymond Joseph Hagedorn, 83; of Sellersburg

— A Funeral Mass for Raymond Joseph Hagedorn, 83, of Sellersburg, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1752 Scheller Lane, New Albany, with burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. He died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.

He was born Sept. 6, 1929, in Tell City to the late John C. and Clara V. (Peter) Hagedrorn. He was united in marriage to Mary Augusta Hauser on Nov. 23, 1950, and to this union brought seven children to bless their home. In 1978, Raymond opened Hagedorn Collision Center, which he owned and operated. He was a faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Knights of Columbus #1221, the K.S.D.A and the Rebels Square Dance Club.

Survivors include his wfe of 62 years, Mary Augusta Hageborn; seven children, Eugene Hagedorn, Joseph Hagedorn and his wife, Linda, Roger Hagedorn and his wife, Carol Ann, Ronald Hagedorn and his wife, Sondra, Debra Huber and her husband, Gary, Denise Batliner and her husband Thomas, and Cheryl Pearce and her husband Paul; a sister, Agnes Simon; 18 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his graddaughter, Krista Hagedorn; brothers, Clarence, Ervin, Earl, Casper and Leo Hagedorn; sisters, Mildred Schaefer and Freida Thole and an infant sister, Eleanor.

Visitation at Newcomer Funeral Home in New Albany will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1752 Scheller Lane, New Albany, 47150.
