90; Charlestown

— Funeral services for Lloyd Russell True, 90, Charlestown, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Grayson Funeral Home, Charlestown, with burial to follow in the Charlestown Cemetery. He died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

He was born Jan. 3, 1923, to Elba and Georgia (Cornett) True in Indianapolis. He was an Army veteran of WWII, a retired Indiana State Police officer for 21 years, worked on the board of education as a data processor for 17 years, and was a charter member of the F.O.P Lodge. 

Survivors include his sons, George True, Madison and Richard True, Jeffersonville; daughter, Helen Knoebel, Charlestown; sister, Alleen Brown, Beech Grove; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lauvedia; brother, Clarence and Bob; and sister, Flo Haggard.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday.
