William “Bill” Leo Burns, Sr., 69; of Jeffersonville

William “Bill” Leo Burns, Sr., 69, of Jeffersonville, joined his heavenly father on April 20, 2013, after a battle with heart disease and ALS.  

Bill was a member of Masonic Lodge #40 Jeffersonville and 122nd Scottish Rites in Indianapolis. He was also the President of the International Harvester Retirees Club, a 1962 graduate of Jeffersonville High School and served in the United States Navy.

Bill was blessed by his church family at Eastside Christian Church and lived a full life enriched by extended family and many dear friends.  

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Ida Mae Phipps Burns; his daughter Delana Goodson; and his son William “Bill” L. Burns Jr. and his wife, Angie Rouse Burns, all of Jeffersonville. He was alos blessed with four cherished grandchildren, Austin Goodson, Sophia Burns, Macy Goodson and Leo Burns. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Lillie Mae Burns and leaves behind a brother, Lonnie Burns and his wife Susie; and a sister, Shirley Williams. 

Visitation at Scott Funeral Home in Jeffersonville will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday followed by a memorial service.
