Mae Smith, 96; of Sebring, Fla.

Graveside services for Mae Smith, 96, of Sebring, Fla., will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at Barnes Cemetery near Nabb. She died Friday, April 5, 2013, in Sebring, Fla.

She was born Oct. 12, 1916, in Scott Co., the daughter of James Elmer and Effie Stodghill Shepherd. She was a retired elementary teacher and taught in the New Washington Elementary Schools for several years, was a former member of the Trinity United Presbyterian Church in New Washington and the Red Hat Club.

Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Williams and her husband Bill, of St. Joseph, Ill.; grandchildren, David Cross and his wife Julia, and Lisa Bathe and her husband Jeff; and a great-grandchild, Bryan Bathe.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Bryan Riley Smith, on Nov. 19, 2004.

Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington is entrusted with the arrangements.
