Joan Whobrey Stumler, 78; Greenville

— Funeral services for Joan Whobrey Stumler, 78, Greenville, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany, with entombment in Fairview Cemetery, New Albany. She died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at her home with her family by her side.  

She was born Feb. 15, 1935 in Louisville, to the late Phleman and Blanche White Whobrey. She retired from P. Lorilord Tobacco Company after 34 years of service.  

She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Stumler; children, Sharon Stinson, Paul Anthony Vincent, Christopher Stumler and his wife, Anna, Kimberly Lapointe and her husband, Ray, Karen Stumler, and Karla Kaye Ferry; siblings, Eyvond Shroads and her husband, Jim, Ercie Clayborn, and Phillip Whobrey; grandchildren, Paul Anthony Vincent Jr., Jessica Edwards, Brian Harrison, Michael Stumler, Samantha Stumler, Kandi Green, Benjamin Lapointe, and Chad Stumler; and 10 great-grandchildren.  

 In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Allen Brantley.  

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
