Robert P. Morgan

85; New Albany

— A funeral Mass for Robert P. Morgan, 85, New Albany, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New Albany, with burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

A well known New Albany tailor, and the son of the late Frank T. and Lenora (Kerr) Morgan, Robert was born May 20, 1928, in New Albany. He took over ownership and operated J. J. Morgan & Son Custom Tailors in New Albany until 1999, after learning the trade from his elder brother and father in the 1940s. Robert was also a U.S. Army veteran and member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New Albany. The family would like to especially thank Vicki Curtis, caregiver for seven years, Amy Banet, neighbor and friend, and Sean Petty, with Hosparus, for the special care and support shown to Robert and his family. 

 Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Carolyn S. (Cullins) Morgan; daughter, Beverly M. Anderson and her husband Andy; Andy’s sons, Jeffrey and Russell Anderson; brothers, Thomas Morgan and Charles Morgan; numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Robert was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Frank Morgan.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany.
