Funeral services for Charles “Ed” DeWeese, 66, of Henryville, will be at noon Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Safe Harbor Christian Church in Memphis with the Rev. T.C. Baker officiating and entombment to follow at Kraft Graceland Cemetery in New Albany. He died at 9:24 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at his home.
He was born Feb. 3, 1946, in Louisville and was the son of Isaac Paul and Lucille (Davis) DeWeese, who are both deceased. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He owned DeWeese Plumbing for several years then retired from West Clark schools as the head of maintenance for more than 32 years. He enjoyed working with kids, was a big supporter of Little League baseball, a high school golf coach for eight years and junior varsity baseball coach for 10 years. He loved going on his fishing trips with his buddies, he was the best friend you could ever have. He also enjoyed being down in Florida where he liked spending time with his friends and family.
On Jan. 24, 1970, he married Betty Ann (Hutchins) DeWeese, who survives in Henryville.
Other survivors include one daughter, Nona and her husband Andrew Moore of Henryville; a son Chuck and his wife Heather DeWeese of Henryville; three grandchildren, Stefan Corbin, Emily Kays and Olivia Moore, all of Henryville; two sister-in-laws, Carolyn Baxter and Dee Fate both of Henryville.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today [Monday] at Adams Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
