Funeral services for Darlene Ann Edmonds, 79, of New Albany, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany, with entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. She died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
She was born Aug. 27, 1933, in Jasper, to the late Carl and Theresia Bombalaski Jahn. She was a homemaker and a life member of the VFW post 1693 Ladies Auxiliary. All her friends knew that although she liked to torment people, she had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone.
Survivors include her daughters, Donna Edmonds Lilly and her husband, Greg, of Louisville, Mona Edmonds (Connie Wilson), of Louisville, Ruth Edmonds Hook and her husband, Darrell, of New Albany, Melba Edmonds Zink, of New Albany, and Sheila Jahn Carpenter, of Louisville; siblings, Donald Jahn and his wife, Sue, of Jacksonville, Fla., John “Jay” Jahn, of Sellersburg, and Sheri Crafton and her husband, Ralph, of Lexington, S.C.; grandchildren, Kendra Wiseman Ashby and her husband, James, Jonathon Wiseman and his wife, Misse, Leann Hook, Anthony Hook, and Melissa Carpenter Kurtz and her husband, Michael; great-grandchildren, Stefanie, Shawn, Whitney, Kayla, and Jordan Ashby, Cameron Johnson, Michael, Racheal, Jacob, Alexander, Christopher, and Elizabeth Carpenter; and great-great-grandchildren, Molli Ashby, Liam Dobson and Cora Hook.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J. Edmonds; her sisters, Marcelene Jahn, and Celesta Graham; her brother, Charles and Earl Jahn and her granddaughter, Chesley Wiseman.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
