Phyllis D. “Granny” Spittle Lamon

84; New Albany

— Funeral services for Phyllis D. “Granny” Spittle Lamon, 84, New Albany, will be at noon Monday, Sept. 16, at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany, with private interment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. She died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013.

 She was born Oct. 28, 1928, in Fort Fairfield, Maine to the late Ernest and Margaret White Spittle. She was the widow of her husband of some 65 years, George Edward Lamon Sr. and was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church, New Albany. She was fondly referred to as “Granny” and loved her family and living life to the fullest.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include six children, George E. Lamon Jr. and wife, Tammy, Paul Lamon and wife, Rebecca, Donald Lamon and wife, Andrea, Mary Kelty, Margaret Kenney, and Phyllis Keene and her husband, David; brother, Gregg H. Spittle and wife, Glinda; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
